Tempe Christian School Philosophy
We, at Tempe Christian
School, believe that the heights to which a child will soar into the future is
greatly determined by the foundation on which his formative years are built.
Therefore, at Tempe Christian School, we teach
a view of life where Christ is the cornerstone of that foundation.
Because God is Truth and Love, all we do and teach is based on His
perspective as He has communicated it to us through His creation, His Son, and
His Holy Word. We believe that the
Bible is relevant and is “God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting, and training in righteousness, so that every man of God may be
thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (II
We invite Christ to work through us to reveal Himself to those around us.
We refute humanism that is a philosophy of education that divorces God
from His universe.
We exist as a group of mature
Christians prepared to partner with parents who desire a private, Christian
education and daycare experience for their children and who also are willing to
cooperate with the school’s policies and procedures.
want children in our care to know that they are God’s creation, loved and
highly valued by their Maker. We stress that children honor and respect God, his parents,
those in authority and his neighbor. We
model and teach about God’s grace, mercy, justice, and love, and how to pray
and forgive. We lead children to
Christ and to His cross where they will find salvation and eternal life.
We teach that the Bible is our Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth (B.I.B.L.E.)
We promote good citizenship and sportsmanship, pride in America, and
personal satisfaction in a job well done.
the preschool, we accept children newborn to pre-kindergarten who are able to
provide a developmentally appropriate response to the care and instruction
given, as well as in the interaction with teachers, staff and other children.
In the elementary school, we
accept students from kindergarten
through fifth grade who demonstrate a desire to abide by the educational and
spiritual principles of the school, maintain high standards of Christian
conduct, and have the ability to do the required work.
We are an outreach ministry of
the Church. We are called to this
ministry to children and to families. We believe that God established the family
as the primary means of educating a child.
We believe that the school provides a bridge to parents and are committed
to assisting parents to “train up the child in the way he should go, that when
he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs
22:6) We are sensitive to
the fact that every family, child and parent or guardian is at a different,
unique place in his or her spiritual journey.
Through the school’s influence in the lives of families, we hope to
challenge parents as well as children to the high call of holiness.
We pray for God to use us to establish God’s Kingdom in every heart and
home; that parents and guardians would come to know Christ more intimately than
they may already know Him, as their personal friend and Savior.
Families can then function as God has designed and significantly impact
the lives of the children.
At Tempe Christian School we value

About the Holy Spirit
believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling is
enabling us, Christians, to live godly lives; cleansing us from all sin;
renewing us in the image of God; empowering us to love God with our whole heart,
soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbors as ourselves; and producing in us
the character of Christ. (Romans
8:13–14, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, Ephesians 4:30,
We believe that our purpose is to bring glory to God; to know Him and to reveal Him to others. We bring Him glory through worshiping, praying, surrendering, loving, building His Kingdom, cultivating community, ministering to the world in evangelism and compassion, encouraging believers toward Christian maturity through discipleship and preparing people for Christian service. (2 Corinthians 6:1, Acts 2:42, Mark 16:15, Romans 11:36, 2 John 1:6, Galatians 5:14, Mark 10:43, Philippians 4:6,7)
